Sara Woodring

Sara Woodring joined the Chestnut Hill College Athletic Training staff prior to the fall 2023 school year. She previously worked for NovaCare Rehabilitation from 2017-2023,  serving as the head athletic trainer for Merion Mercy Academy (2018-2023), while overseeing Haverford College club sports until 2020. Before Merion Mercy Academy, she worked in North Penn School District as an athletic trainer at the middle and high schools.
 
Woodring graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training in 2015 from Duquesne University where she completed clinical rotations with Robert Morris University football, Avonworth High School, North Allegheny High School football, Duquesne University Women's Lacrosse, and the Pittsburgh Ballet. She went on to earn her Master's of Science in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion at George Mason University in 2017, where she acted as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Beville Middle School in Woodbridge, VA. She was also a teacher's assistant for anatomy and physiology and first aid/CPR undergraduate courses. Her thesis was entitled Characterizing Head Impacts in Boys' Youth Lacrosse was focused on accelerometer data and video analysis of head and body impacts. Her manuscript has since been accepted into the Journal of Athletic Training and will be published as Characterizing Head and Body Impacts in Boys' Youth Lacrosse.
 
Sara is a nationally board-certified athletic trainer with a State Board of Medicine license to practice as an athletic trainer in Pennsylvania. She also holds her American Red Cross BLS Instructor Certification and provides adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED courses to coaches and health care professionals in the area.
 
She is a long-time resident of Bucks County, currently residing Plumsteadville.
