Warrick Double-Double Draws CACC Weekly Honor Roll Mention
New Haven, Conn. - (1/7/2020) – Sophomore forward Amir Warrick (Washington, DC) averaged a team-high 14.0 points per game (PPG) and provided 7.5 rebounds per game (RPG) while recording five assists, a block, and two steals during the Griffins’ 0-2 start to 2020 to earn his first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll appearance of the season. Warrick shined brightest in a 90-70 CACC loss to Dominican College on Sunday, January 5, with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Chestnut Hill College (2-12, 2-3) met Assumption College (7-4) at Laska Gymnasium on Thursday, January 2, for both teams’ first action of 2020. The hosting Greyhounds took control of the contest in the first half, pacing the Griffins to a 42-23 halftime score. The second half was played much more competitively, but the early separation was too much for the Scarlet and Gold to recover from in a 91-69 end. Freshman guard Scottie Spann Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa.) came off the Chestnut Hill College bench to lead the team in scoring with 24 points. Warrick was 2-of-6 (.333) from the floor and 3-of-6 (.500) from the free throw line to finish with seven point in excess of five rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Chestnut Hill College welcomed Dominican College (11-3, 4-1) to campus for Sunday’s (January 5) CACC contest. Warrick registered his first double-double of the season – and the second of his career – but his 21 points and 10 rebounds were not enough for the Griffins to overcome the Chargers in a 90-70 conclusion. Warrick added four assists, a block, and a steal to his double-double. He was 7-of-16 (.438) from the field and 7-of-8 (.875) from the free throw line.
