DiRugeris Noted As Honorable Mention
For CACC Player of the Week Award

Mark DiRugeris Jr. (Woodbury, NJ) led Chestnut Hill College to a 3-0 record in their first week of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play to earn an honorable mention for the league’s Player of the Week award. DiRugeris averaged 22.0 points-per-game (PPG) and 4.7 rebounds-per-game (RPG) while totaling 10 assists and six steals in conference wins over Holy Family University, Wilmington University, and Caldwell College.
DiRugeris opened the week by converting two game-clinching free throws in a 77-75 Chestnut Hill College (9-3, 3-0) win over Holy Family University on Tuesday, December 6. He finished the contest with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. In the next conference win, 71-65, at Wilmington University on Thursday, December 8, DiRugeris offered 18 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals; but he saved the best for last. DiRugeris hit three from long range (3-of-4, 75.5%) in an 8-of-9 (88.9%) first-half shooting performance against Caldwell College on Saturday, December 10, to help carry Head Coach Jesse Balcer and the men’s basketball program to their 100
th all-time win. His greatest contribution to the win, however, was finding senior guard
Brandon Williams (Philadelphia, PA) for the game-winning, three-point basket with 30 second remaining. DiRugeris finished the week 56.8% (21-of-37) from the floor, 56.3% (9-of-16) from long range, and 78.9% (15-of-19) from the free throw line. For the season, DiRugeris is leading the Griffins in scoring (15.8 PPG) while also totaling 3.3 RPG, 23 assists, a block, and 18 steals. He has shot 47.7% (61-of-128) from the field, 51.2% (21-of-41) from long range, and 87.0% (47-of-54) from the free throw line.
