Pizarro Captures CACC Honorable Mention

Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.) had a foot in each Chestnut Hill College goal scored against Millersville University last Saturday, September 1. The effort earned Pizarro an honorable mention among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly award winners.
Chestnut Hill College grabbed the lead twice against Millersville University, but the visiting Marauders answered each Griffin tally before a long strike provided the game-winner, 3-2, with 17:15 remaining on the clock. Pizarro led the Griffin effort, first providing the pass on a give-and-go goal with junior midfielder
Carly DiGiovanni (Seaville, N.J.), 1-0 (12:10) and later forcing and finishing a second-half Marauder turnover, 2-1 (65:52). After a 1-1 halftime break, Pizarro regained the lead for the Griffins, pressuring the Marauder defense into a turnover before finishing a strike from center pitch. Unfortunately, less the four minutes later the Marauders knotted the affair for a second time (69:28), before another tally in the 73rd-minute (72:45) earned them the win, 3-2.
The women's soccer team opens their CACC schedule with their next contest; a 12:30 p.m. contest at Nyack College on Saturday, September 8.
