Dawson Dawns CACC Weekly Honor Roll for Third Time

Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) first teamed with freshman
Marie Deleval (Grimaud, France) for an 8-4 win at number one doubles, before securing an individual 6-1, 6-0 victory at number one singles. Her performance earned her a third mention on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
Completing their CACC schedule and securing the top seed in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament, Chestnut Hill College (11-1, 8-0) shutout Philadelphia University 9-0 in Tuesday afternoon’s match. The Griffins swept both doubles and singles play to go undefeated in CACC for the first time in program history and get their best chance to earn a league championship on their home courts. Dawson and Deleval concluded the Griffins doubles sweep with their 8-4 win over senior Isabella Espinosa (Quito, Ecuador) and freshman Emily Chung Manhattan Beach, Calif.), before each earning individual victories in singles play. Dawson completed her perfect day with a 6-1, 6-0 number one singles win over Espinosa.
The women's tennis team will compete next with the men at West Chester University on Friday, October 11, while that await the 10:00 a.m. semifinal match of the CACC Championship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, October 19.
