Nolte’s Winner Garners CACC Rookie of the Week Award
 
New Haven, CT – (9/13/2010) – Freshman midfielder Lauren Nolte (Wilmington, DE) scored the game-winner in Chestnut Hill College’s 1-0 victory over Caldwell College to garner the praise of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Her clutch goal earned her the CACC Rookie of the Week title for the week ending September 12.
 
Chestnut Hill College (2-1-1) went 1-1 on the week, tying Bloomsburg University 1-1 in double overtime on Tuesday, September 8 and defeating Caldwell College on Saturday, September 11, for their first CACC victory. Nolte played a critical role in the conference affair, striking the game-winning tally off the feed from freshman midfielder Steph Litty (Marlton, NJ). Litty located Nolte at 16 yards out to put the Griffins in front 1-0 at 61:43. Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Veazey (Middletown, DE) and the defense held the Cougars scoreless for the final 28:17. Nolte is currently in a four-way tie for the team lead in goals (1); she also tied for second in points (2) with two others.
 
The women’s soccer team heads to Georgian Court University to continue their CACC schedule for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
