Essenthier Collects Men’s Soccer’s
Second Straight CACC Honorable Mention 
 
New Haven, CT – (9/13/2010) – For the second consecutive week, the Chestnut Hill College men’s soccer team received an honorable mention among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly award winners. This week it was sophomore forward Carl Essenthier (Philadelphia, PA) earning the mention after recording three goals in a 2-0 week.
 
Essenthier started the week with two goals in a dramatic overtime win against the University of the District of Columbia. Chestnut Hill College (3-1) hosted the Firebirds in an evening affair at the Plymouth Whitemarsh Football Stadium on Thursday, September 9, but it was Essenthier’s second goal that made the night memorable. Essenthier received a cross from sophomore forward Ryan Lannutti (Calabasas, CA) at the top of the offensive zone for a one-on-one opportunity with the Firebird keeper. He buried the shot to the bottom left of the goal for the game-winner, ending the contest on a 4-3 final. Essenthier also recorded an insurance goal in the 4-2 conference win over Caldwell College on Saturday, September 11.He leads the Griffins in shots (17) this season, he is tied for first in goals (3), and he is second in points (6).
 
The men’s soccer team returns home to host Goldey-Beacom College in a 6:30 p.m. CACC contest at Plymouth Whitemarsh Victory Field #1 on Thursday, September 16.
