Alexander Repeats as Honorable Mention

New Haven, CT – (4/18/2011) – Taking the reins for Chestnut Hill College, sophomore midfielder Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, PA) earned an honorable mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week award after totaling 12 goals, an assist, ten ground balls, 20 draws, and caused four turnovers in a 2-2 week for the Griffins.
 
After a slow start at Kutztown University, Alexander erupted for six goals, three ground balls and seven draws in a CACC loss at Wilmington University on Wednesday, April 13. Chestnut Hill College (6-8, 4-5) had better luck on the weekend, collecting two wins. She totaled a goal, an assist, three ground balls, six draws, and three caused turnovers against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, April 16; before leading the Griffins to a CACC win at Post University with five goals, a ground ball, three draws and a caused turnover on Sunday, April 17. For the season, Alexander ranks second in goals (24), assists (11), and points (35), while leading the Griffins in ground balls (48), draws (60), and caused turnovers (29). 
 
The women’s lacrosse team returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19, with a 4:00 match at Holy Family University.
