Casaletto Hat Trick Hauls in Second CACC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
Â
New Haven, Conn. - (10/24/2017) – In a must-win affair at Felician University, on Saturday, October 21, senior midfielder Joseph Casaletto (Sewell, N.J.) recorded his first collegiate hat trick to propel Chestnut Hill College to a 3-0 league triumph over the Golden Falcons. The three-goal effort earned Casaletto his second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll selection of the season. He also recorded four of the Scarlet and Gold’s 11 shots in a 1-0 CACC loss to Jefferson University on Tuesday, October 17.
Â
The only goal of Tuesday afternoon’s CACC contest came in the first 43 seconds (0:43) of the affair as Jefferson University (11-3-1, 9-0-1) used a deep throw-in to find a head in the box. Unfortunately, the tally stood up in another highly competitive match between Chestnut Hill College (5-11, 4-8) and the Rams, 1-0. Casaletto led the Griffin offense with four of their 11 shots, while sophomore goalkeeper Frank Maniscalco (Philadelphia, Pa.) took the loss (4-8) despite making five saves behind a solid Scarlet and Gold backfield performance.
Â
Staying alive in a battle for CACC postseason play, Chestnut Hill College captured a 3-0 league win over Felician University thanks to Casaletto’s first career hat trick. The Griffin captain intercepted and scored a pass back to the Golden Falcon goalkeeper at 18:58, and then completed a pass from junior forward Jason Burns (Douglassville, Pa.) at 41:39, before converting a penalty kick opportunity at 79:15 in a tremendous individual performance. In addition to Casaletto’s four shots, junior defenseman Tyler Johnson (Howell, N.J.) offered a pair, and five others each took one.

The Chestnut Hill College men's soccer team now prepares for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference contest against East Stroudsburg University game on Thursday, October 26, while awaiting the conclusion of the CACC regular season schedule.
