Mayer and Lemieux Land on CACC Golf Weekly Report As League’s Player and Rookie of the Week
New Haven, Conn. - (9/12/2018) – Chestnut Hill College was well represented on the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf Weekly Report of the season as Junior Shawn Mayer (Brick, N.J.) and freshman Jakob Lemieux (Toronto, Canada) respectively garnered the league’s Player and Rookie of the Week titles. Mayer’s 74 (+2) topped the leaderboard at the Jefferson Invitational on Wednesday, September 5, while Lemieux debuted at the same event with a round of 81 (+9).
Mayer’s one-stroke lead over Cabrini College senior David Gall (Cinnaminson, N.J.) (75, +3) helped Chestnut Hill College (317, +29) edge out the Cavaliers (318, +30) by a single stroke, as well as, host, Jefferson (331, +43). Mayer’s two-over was backed by junior Nick Smalley (Blue Bell, Pa.) (80, +8), Lemieux (81, +9), and junior Taylor Mezzatesta (Forest Hill, Md.) (82, +10).
