Lemieux Earns Third Straight CACC Rookie of the Week, Gets Share of Player Title
New Haven, Conn. - (9/27/2018) – For the third report in a row, freshman Jakob Lemieux (Toronto, Canada) captured the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf Rookie of the Week award. The Griffin newcomer also earned a share of the CACC Golf Player of the Week, after leading Chestnut Hill College to a sixth place finish (6th of 10, 312-312, 624, +48) at the American International College (AIC) Fall Invitational.
Chestnut Hill College posted back-to-back rounds of 312 (+24), unfortunately, the score was not enough to keep the Griffins in their day-one standing (5th of 10, 312, +24) as the finished the event sixth in the 10-team field. Likewise, Lemieux matched his first round 74 (+2) to complete the two-day tournament tied for eighth with his plus-four score of 148 (74-74, 148, +4).
Chestnut Hill College competes next on Sunday, September 30, when they join their league rivals at Newark, Delaware's Deerfield Country Club for the CACC Championship Tournament.
