Philadelphia, PA – (10/8/2009) – Chestnut Hill College looked to get the edge on Philadelphia University in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match, forcing a tie-breaker in the top doubles flight. However, the Lady Rams won the extra set en route to sweeping the Griffins 9-0.

Chestnut Hill College (2-12, 2-6) nearly collected a point at number one doubles, as seniors Erin Andersen (Canton, CT) and Karen Guwuriro (Harare, Zimbabwe ) knotted the top doubles match at 8-8. Unfortunately, the Lady Rams rallied to win the tiebreaker 7-3. Philadelphia University (9-6, 5-3) took number two doubles 8-1, and number three doubles 8-2 to sweep doubles play. They also won all individual matches to shut out the Griffins.

The women's tennis team hosts St. Thomas Aquinas College in a 12:00 p.m. match on Saturday, October 10. Prior to the start of the match the Griffins will recognize their graduating class in Senior Day proceedings.
