Philadelphia, PA – (10/8/2009) – The Tigers hit .292 (41K-15E-89TA) in tonight's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to defeat Chestnut Hill College 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-15). Defensively, freshman libero Elisabeth DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA ) and freshman specialist Bobbie Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA ) hustled to foil the Holy Family University attacks, but the could not stop the offense of sophomore outside hitter Katie Hornback (Indianapolis, Ind.) and junior setter Aimee Drabyn (Avon, Ind.).

Drabyn facilitated 30 assists helping Holy Family University (8-15, 6-3) to a decisive 3-0 victory. Hornback headlined the Tigers' attack with 12 kills; she hit .333 (12K-4E-24TA) in the match. Three other Tigers scored at least five kills and as a team, Holy Family University spotted 13 aces. Drabyn led the way with four untouched serves and led the Tigers defensively as well with eight digs.

Freshman middle hitter Cassie Benson (Rosamond, CA ) scored five kills to lead Chestnut Hill College (4-15, 0-9). She was complimented by junior outside hitter Nicole Corrado (Telford, PA ), who made three kills. Freshman setter Courtney Gallo (Wilmington, DE ) supplied 10 assists and was one of four Griffins to record an ace. Defensively, DiGregorio totaled 12 digs and Benson chipped in with three blocks.

The women's volleyball team continues their CACC schedule with a trip to Nyack College on Saturday, October 10, for a 1:00 p.m. match.
