Philadelphia, PA – (9/24/2009) –Junior Sarah Doherty (South Hampton, PA) led the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Holy Family University. Doherty earned the Griffins' lone point in individual play, and teamed with her sister, freshman Regina Doherty (South Hampton, PA) for an 8-4 win at number three doubles. Unfortunately, Holy Family University won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match 7-2.
Doherty had a hand in both Chestnut Hill College (0-7, 0-3) points. She scored an 6-2, 6-4 win over Chelsea Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) at number five singles and teamed with her sister to defeat junior Linda Piecyk (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore Amanda Tole (Cinnaminson, N.J.) 8-4 at number three doubles. Holy Family University (3-2, 1-1) won all the remaining matches to earn the conference victory.
The women's tennis team visits West Chester University for a 12:00 p.m. match on Saturday, September 26.
