Trenton Davidheiser (Pottstown, PA) made his season debut and a pair of free throws to give Chestnut Hill College a 61-59 lead with 11:09 remaining in this evening's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. The Griffins' advantage was brief, however, as Post University's 9-0 run would give the Eagles the edge they needed. The Eagles survived with 74-70 victory as time ran out on the Griffins' final hurrah.
Post University (6-12, 2-6) led for most of the way and owned a 68-61 advantage with eight minutes to play. Chestnut Hill College (6-10, 2-5) managed to quickly narrow the gap on a three-point basket from graduate forward

Ryan Cook (Laurel, MD)Down 68-66 with 6:38 to play the Griffins traded baskets with the Eagles on the next two possessions to keep the deficit at two, 72-70, with 1:16 left on the clock. Two Eagle free throws made the lead four, 74-70, before a last-second Griffin heave missed its target.
The Eagles had four players in double figures with junior guard Spencer Smith (White Plains, N.Y.) leading the way. Smith totaled 17 points on 7-of-10 (70%) shooting, while also grabbing eight rebounds. He teamed with freshman forward Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to lead the Eagles to a 50-43 halftime lead; they each had ten points in the opening period. Hamlet finished with 14 points. Graduate guard Jon Lucky (Waterbury, Conn.) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while also handing out five assists. Freshman guard Larry Grant (White Plains, N.Y.) provided ten points off the bench.
Jeter carried the Griffins in the early going, totaling 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals by halftime. He finished with 23 points on an 11-of-14 (78.6%) shooting performance and grabbed six rebounds. Comas turned in his fourth double-double performance of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds; he also made four blocks continuing a recent defensive tear. Comas has recorded 13 blocks this week, averaging 4.3 per contest, he also made two steals. Freshman forward Andre Rivers (Philadelphia, PA)added ten points off the bench.
The men's basketball team will travel to Wilmington University on Tuesday, January 26 for their next CACC contest tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
