Griffins Complete Play at CACC Golf Championships

Middlefield, CT – (4/13/2010) – Post University made it five straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships with a two-stroke win over Wilmington University. The Eagles had the event's top two performers to finish the two-day tournament on 615 strokes. Chestnut Hill College finished 11th with a team score of 710.

 

Sophomore David McGregor (Helensburg, Scotland) and senior Lee Wanklyn (Berkshire, England) powered Post University to victory and then squared off against each other as the both totaled 147 strokes through two rounds. McGregor claimed individual victory in the playoff.

 

Junior Mike Gibbons (Philadelphia, PA) totaled the lowest two-day total for Chestnut Hill College with 173 strokes. First-day leader, sophomore Michael Gough (Sicklerville, NJ) finished with 179 strokes. Junior Darrell Bachman (Philadelphia, PA) turned in the Griffins' low score on the second day, an 87, helping him to a total of 180. Senior Tim Streeper (Philadelphia, PA) showed a ten-stroke improvement from his first day with an 87 in the second round. He finished with a 184 while sophomore Gavin Reid (Dundee, Scotland) completed the event in 191 swings.

 

The golf team will finish their season with a round at the Ace Club against Philadelphia University on Sunday, April 25. Tee-time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
