Philadelphia, PA – (9/24/2010) – Chestnut Hill College grabbed its third straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win with a 9-0 shutout of Post University. The Griffins won the top two singles matches by 8-1 finals, before taking number three doubles and all individual matches.

Play moved quickly as Chestnut Hill College (4-3, 3-1) charged out to a 3-0 advantage in doubles play. Sophomore Nastia Shcherbakova (Minsk, Belarus) and freshman Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, OH) won number one doubles 8-1, and sophomores Danielle Knott (Mt. Vernon, NY) and Maria Parapouras (Victoria, Australia) won by the same score in number two doubles. Sophomores Kristen Wasson (Albrightsville, PA) and Regina Doherty (Southampton, PA) completed the sweep of doubles play with an 8-0 win at number three singles.

The Griffin wins continued into singles play where Shcherbakova claimed the top flight 6-1, 6-1. Dennis was victorious at number two singles 6-0, 6-1, while Parapouras took number three singles 6-0, 6-0. At number four singles, Knott won 6-1, 6-2. Wasson scored a 6-4, 6-2 win at number five singles and Doherty won 6-0, 6-1 in the sixth singles flight.

The women's tennis team returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 25, in a 1:00 p.m. CACC match against Concordia College.
