West Chester, PA – (9/10/2011) – After a tough day of competition on Friday The Chestnut Hill Griffins were faced with another tough opponent in C.W. Post. The Griffins lost to C.W. Post 3-0, (25-22, 25-18, 25-17). Chestnut Hill stayed right with C.W. Post in the first set until their opponent pulled away with the victory in the first set. With the help of sophomore outside hitterAlex DePalma(Shillington, PA) who recorded 14 kills, 2 aces, and 10 digs the Griffins were able to stand toe-to-toe with C.W.Post. The match was emotional and inspiring, even though the Griffins did not come away with the victory, much of the team put up some very impressive stats. 

The Griffins Offense was also led by sophomore middle hitter Mary Markowski(Parkton, MD) who recorded 8 kills, and sophomore outside hitter Kailey Arlen (Orlando Park, IL) who recorded 7 kills. If it were not for the amount of remarkable assists (33) that freshman setter Sidney Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA) the rest of the teams kills would not have been possible. The Griffins are truly a team that is invested in each other, and believe when they set the ball one of their team mates will come in with the kill.

 

 

The women's volleyball team has one more match of the day against Lincoln University (PA) at 12:00 P.M.
