Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (9/15/2012) – Junior midfielder Carly DiGiovanni (Seaville, N.J.) powered Chestnut Hill College over Concordia College this afternoon, as the Griffins earned their second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win, 5-2. With all the scoring coming in the second half, sophomore midfielder Katherine Williams (Pennsauken, N.J.) got the home team rolling, before DiGiovanni scored three of the next four Griffin goals for her first career hat trick.

Junior defender Brittany Boles (Broomall, Pa.) found Williams for the first Chestnut Hill College (2-4, 2-0) goal, which was overdue in a 35-9 shot differential. The tally came after a 52-minute stalemate, 1-0 (52:04), and was soon followed by a foot-to-head connection between junior forward Kaelyn Pizarro (Berlin, N.J.) and DiGiovanni, 2-0 (58:49). Her next goal came just 1:23 later on an unassisted effort, 3-0. Concordia College (NY) (0-5, 0-2) interrupted the run on a converted penalty kick by junior forward Bridgitte McCalla (Queens, N.Y.) at 64:43, 3-1, but the goals kept coming. DiGiovanni scored at 67:49, 4-1, then the Clippers responded on an unassisted goal from sophomore forward Nicole Brochero (White Plains, N.Y.) at 69:48, 4-2, only for to have freshman midfielder Danielle Spinuzza (Williamstown, N.J.) deliver the nail-in-the-coffin at 70:12, 5-2.

Senior forward Iyesha Ollivierre (Trinidad & Tobago) led the Clippers with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper Johanna Vargas (Queens, N.Y.) made 14 saves in the loss (0-5).

DiGiovanni was successful on 37.5% of her shots, finding the back of the net on three of her eight shots. Pizarro doubled her season point total with a goal and an assist in today's contest; she helped keep the Clippers busy with five shots. Spinuzza led the Griffins with six shots. Senior goalkeeper Jessica Veazey (Middletown, Del.) earned her second win (2-4) of the season with five saves.

The women's soccer team continues their CACC schedule with a 3:00 p.m. contest at Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday, September 19.
