Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Garden City, N.Y. - (10/12/2013) – The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team came away winless from a pair of matches at Adelphi University as the Griffins suffered a 3-0 (20-25, 20-25 24-26) loss to the hosting Panthers after falling to Pace University 3-0 (24-26, 15-25, 23-25) in their first match of the day. Senior outside hitter Alexandra DePalma (Shillington, Pa.) led the Griffin effort with 23 kills on the afternoon, freshman setter Emily Drew (Ringoes, N.J.) offered 59 assists, and freshman libero Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) hustled to 24 digs.

Against the Pace University (4-15), the Setters used a mid first set run to separate for a 17-12 lead before battling Chestnut Hill College (6-13) to a slim 26-24 victory. The Griffins fell behind the Setters quickly in the second set as they trailed 15-5 before dropping the set by the same margin, 25-15. Play was again tight in the third set, but went the Setters way after a 5-0 run secured them a 20-15 edge late in the frame. They took the set by a 25-23 final, dismissing the Griffins in three straight sets. DePalma killed ten points and led four Griffin in double-digit digs with 16. Drew offered 29 assists to the Griffin offense.

The first set against Adelphi University (10-7) went much like the first against the Setters with the Panthers separating from the Griffins midway through the opening set, 15-11, before winning the game by a 25-20 final. They would take the second set by the same score, 25-20, prior to winning the match with a highly-competitive 26-24 third-set victory. The Panthers held a 24-20 advantage until the Griffins issued their final rally of the day. On DePalma's serve the Griffins would tie the score at 24-24 only for the Panthers to record the match's final two points. DePalma went for 13 kills and ten digs in her second double-double of the day and ninth of the season. Drew supplied 30 assists and Trabosh captained the Griffins defensive effort with 11 digs.

The women's volleyball team will resume their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Tuesday, October 15, when they visit Georgian Court University for a 7:00 p.m. match.
