Wilmington, Del. – (10/1/2014) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play resumed this afternoon for the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team, who visited Goldey-Beacom College for a league match. Unfortunately, the Lightning earned a critical win for the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament by defeating the Griffins, 7-2.
 
Goldey-Beacom College (6-0, 3-0) grabbed the advantage in doubles play, taking the bottom two team flights by respective 8-6 and 8-3 finals. Chestnut Hill College (4-2, 4-1) stayed in the match with an 8-2 number one double win from seniors Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) and Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.).
 
The separation came in singles play, where the Lightning claimed individual wins at all but number one singles. There, Dawson recorded the Griffins only singles point with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph.
 
The women's tennis team continues their CACC schedule on Tuesday, October 7, when they visit Philadelphia University for a 3:00 p.m. match.
