Caldwell, N.J. - (9/17/2014) – A 3-0 run in doubles play gave Chestnut Hill College a commanding advantage in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Caldwell University. Individual play followed suit as a 6-0 tilt left Griffins with their second league victory of the season, 9-0.
Seniors
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) and
Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) were the first to score for Chestnut Hill College (2-0, 2-0), who won both number one doubles and number two doubles by an 8-1 final. Junior
Axe Owens (Trenton, N.J.) and freshman
Hannah Hills (Maize, Kan.) were responsible for the number two doubles win while junior
Hayley Craskey (Aston, Pa.) and senior
Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.) completed the sweep with an 8-0 win at number three doubles.
Individual play went just as well for the Griffins, who finished the shutout behind a 6-0, 6-0 number one singles win from Dawson. Williams-Mulesa followed at number two singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Owens continued the run with her 6-0, 6-2 triumph at number three singles while Oechsle took the fourth individual flight in an 8-1 pro set. Craskey secured number five singles on a 6-0, 6-0 win and Hills claimed the six singles flight by walkover.
