Waterbury, Conn. - (9/20/2014) – The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team got back to their winning ways with this afternoon's 9-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph at Post University. After a sweep of doubles play, the Griffins quickly defeated the Eagles as individuals for their third league win.
Chestnut Hill College (3-1, 3-0) won the second and third doubles flights without surrendering a point, 8-0, before completing the sweep with junior
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) and senior
Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) combining for an 8-3 win at number one doubles.
Singles play went even easier for the Griffins who won flights three through seven 6-0, 6-0. Williams-Mulesa gave a little leeway to Post University (0-4, 0-2) taking the second individual flight by a 6-0, 6-1, measure. The Eagles had their most success at number one singles, but even there Dawson claimed the point walking away, 6-1, 6-2.
The women's tennis team continues CACC play on Tuesday, September 23, with a 3:30 p.m. home match against Holy Family University.
