Box Score Wilmington, Del. – (1/13/2015) – The separation came early in tonight's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) fray as Goldey-Beacom College grabbed a seven-point advantage, 13-6, in the opening five minutes (14:40) and never relinquished the lead in a 71-58 win over Chestnut Hill College. Senior center Seamus Radtke (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the Griffins top performer with 18 points, eight rebounds, and a steal.

Evening the season series, Goldey-Beacom College (6-10, 3-5) used a superior shooting performance (46.2%-34.4%) to differentiate from Chestnut Hill College (4-11, 3-5) in a game where each side hauled in 38 rebounds and forced their opponent into 13 turnovers. The Lightning lead first reached double digits with 9:32 remaining in the first half, 21-11, and settled at a seven-point halftime spread, 31-24, before expanding to as many as 22 points, 56-34 at 9:30 and 7:42, in a 13-point win. The Griffins only answer came from Radtke and the starting backcourt duo of junior Luke Dickson (Pitman, N.J.) and senior Christian Walck (Lancaster, Pa.). The trio was responsible for 18 of the Griffins 24 first-half points with Radtke scoring eight points and Walck adding three assists to his half of the other ten points. In the second half, Radtke continued to go to work (ten points and seven rebounds) while Dickson hit two from long range (2-of-2, 100.0% 3PT) and two from the free throw line (2-of-2, 100.0%). But it would not be enough to keep pace with the hot-handed Lighting who hit half their shots (13-of-26, 50.0%) in their en route to their second straight CACC win.

The Lighting shared the effort with sophomore guards Sameen Swint (Sicklerville, N.J.) and Parris Ridgeway-Higgs (New Castle, Del.) joining a trio of seniors in the collaboration. Swint led the group with 17 points and four assists while Ridgeway-Higgs finished with 14 points and five rebounds. As for the upperclassmen, senior guard Joey Getz (Philadelphia, Pa.) offered 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists, center Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill, N.J.) finished with seven points and 12 rebounds, and forward Derrick Archie (Wilmington, Del.) provided 12 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Radtke has now scored in double digits in nine consecutive games after doing so only twice in the Griffins first six contests. Dickson totaled ten points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal while Walck recorded seven points, five rebounds, and four assists.

The men's basketball team takes on their next CACC challenge on Saturday, January 17, when they travel to Northeast Philadelphia for a 3:00 p.m. at Holy Family University.
