Griffins Sweep Past Devils

Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/1/2015) – The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team recorded their third consecutive sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival University of the Sciences (USciences) this evening, continuing their impressive start to conference play with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 decision. Senior outside hitter Rachel Biro (Nazareth, Pa.) set the tone with 16 kills on a .368 hitting percentage (16K-2E-38TA) just two days removed from notching her 1,000th career kill.
 
Senior middle hitter Caitlyn Crawford (Covington, Ohio) did her best to keep USciences (2-8, 1-4) within striking distance, posting a team-high 12 kills to supplement 16 digs. Senior outside hitter Desirae Lair (Las Vegas, Nev.) chipped in with eight kills, and senior defensive specialist Hannah Boulaiche (Clifton Heights, Pa.) scored a double-double with 11 assists and 10 digs.
 
Biro's .368 attack percentage was her second-highest output of the season for Chestnut Hill College (5-12, 4-1) and she contributed a pair of block assists for a game-high 17.0 points. Junior outside hitter Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) supplied her fifth double-double of the 2015 campaign with 11 kills and 15 digs, and freshman setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) accomplished the feat for a second consecutive match with a team-best 22 assists and 12 digs alongside two aces. Junior middle hitter Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) had eight kills, a solo block, and two block assists and junior libero Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) collected a game-high 23 digs.
 
The women's volleyball team returns to Sorgenti Arena to host a tri-match on Saturday, October 3; the Griffins open the day's action with a CACC clash against Caldwell University at 11:00 a.m. and wrap up with a 3:00 p.m. non-conference match opposite the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
