New Haven, Conn. - (10/20/2015) – With the 2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season coming to a close on Monday, October 19, the field is set for the CACC Women's Tennis Championship. The postseason tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 24, with a 10:00 a.m. semifinal, featuring #1 Concordia College (NY) opposite #4 Goldey-Beacom College, at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The #2 seeded Griffins will follow with a 1:00 p.m. match versus #3 Post University.
The official start to championship weekend takes place on Friday, October 23, night with the league's annual championship banquet, where the all-conference honorees and four qualifying teams will be honored for their tremendous 2015 campaigns.
Still undefeated as members of the CACC, Concordia College (NY) finished the 2015 regular season with an 8-0 overall record and a 7-0 mark in league play; the Clippers will be seeking their seventh-consecutive conference crown. Goldey-Beacom College enters this weekend's championship with a 5-3 mark and 4-3 record in CACC play; the Lightning craves revenge for last year's CACC Championship loss. Meanwhile, after incurring their only loss of the fall at the hands of the Clippers (7-2 on 10/13), at 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the CACC; the Griffins desire their first league crown in six consecutive CACC postseason appearances. Yet while offering the league's highest current win total, 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the CACC, Post University hopes for the best in their first championship tournament berth.
Saturday's two semifinal winners will remain at Chestnut Hill College to square off for the conference title on Sunday, October 25, at 1:00 p.m.
