Griffins Face Host Falcons in Final Match at Bentley University Invitational

Box Score Waltham, Mass. - (9/5/2015) – As long as their first three matches were at the Bentley University Invitational, Chestnut Hill College fourth match against the hosting Falcons was short as the home team earned a 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-20) win over the Griffins in just over an hour (1:05). Junior middle hitter Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) led the Griffin offense with 11 points on six kills, an ace, and three blocks while junior libero, and all-tournament performer, Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) totaled 16 digs and a couple of assists.

Bentley University (1-3) was accurate off the serve and active on defense as they scored a dozen serves and combined for nine blocks in the three-game set. Senior outside hitter Jaci Buscher (Lakewood, Colo.) captained the victory with 12 kills, six aces, and three digs. Freshman setter Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa.) and sophomore defensive specialist Isabella Perez (Lafayette, Calif.) combined for the other six aces; Campbell added a kill, 29 assists, and a block to her four aces. 

Chestnut Hill College (0-4) had trouble connecting as 24 attack errors left the Griffins to a -.048 (20K-24E-83TA) team hitting percentage. Freshman setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) supplied the offense with a kill, 16 assists, and two aces while helping Koehler and Trabosh in the defensive effort with four digsy .

Trabosh was joined on the all-tournament team by,able Player (MVP) sophomore outside hitter Anna Tovo (Aiken, S.C.) and her teammate senior right side Kendall Marotti (LaBelle, Fla.) of Florida Southern College, LIU Post sophomore outside hitter Danielle Valenza (Hauppauge, N.Y.), University of Minnesota-Crookston senior outside hitter Stephanie Pearson (Frankfort, Ill.), University of New Haven freshman setter Kristine Rios (Miami, Fla.), and Bentley University junior outside hitter Lauren Van Buren (Massapequa Park, N.Y.).

The Griffins face four new opponents in next weekend's Wildcat Regional Invitational at Wilmington University where Chestnut Hill College is scheduled for respective 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. matches against Franklin Pierce University and American International University on Friday, September 11.
