Kim Kolesnik is pleased to announce the
2016 promotional schedule and invite all of GriffinNation to Sorgenti Arena on Wednesday, August 24, for their Scarlet and Gold Night. A tradition for the women's volleyball program dating back to the 2013 season, the promotional schedule offers members of GriffinNation the opportunity to support the team and other organizations while enjoying costume challenges and skill competitions. This is a FYI Passport Event, so be sure to stop by Sorgenti Arena and join in the fun!
Featuring an intra-squad scrimmage, a serving competition, giveaways, and more the Scarlet and Gold Night is a kick-off, or opening serve, for 2016 women's volleyball season. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team will showcase their talent before allowing a select group of fans to take the court for a 15-point set. A uniform contest will serve as the criteria for the fan match, selecting two teams of six or more to play in a 15-point set in between the second and third set of the Griffins' intra-squad scrimmage. Friday, September 16 vs. Georgian Court University: Beach Night
The Griffins bring the shore to Sorgenti Arena as fans are encouraged to dress in their best beach ensemble. Prizes will be given for best dressed (team choice).
Wednesday, September 21 vs. Holy Family University: Get Real With Teal Night
In partnership with the
Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team aims to raise awareness of ovarian cancer. Members of GriffinNation are encouraged to teal in support.
Tuesday, October 11 vs. USciences: Dig Pink
In partnership with the
Side-Out Foundation, the Griffins ask all those in attendance to "Dig Pink." In support of breast cancer awareness, all are asked to wear pink. The evening will feature a 50/50 raffle and a prize for the fan wearing the most pink, as well as a serving competition following the match, t-shirt sales, and sponsors for digs. All proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Wednesday, November 2 vs. Wilmington University: Super Hero Night
Weather you fashion yourself a member of the X-Men, the Avengers, or the Justice League, fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite super hero. Prizes will be awarded to the two best costumes.
The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team opens the 2016 season on Friday, September 2 when they travel to Rockville Centre, New York, for the Molloy College Invitational. The home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, when the Griffins welcome Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Felician University to Sorgenti Arena for a 7:00 p.m. match.
