Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/14/2016) – Holy Family University won 4-of-6 singles points to top the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team, 5-4, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the CHC Tennis Courts this afternoon.
Chestnut Hill College (0-1, 0-1 CACC) opened strong in doubles play, with the pairing of senior
Louise Charley (St. Jean de Luz, France) and sophomore
Julia Bellon (Indaiatuba, Brazil) securing the first point of the night with an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 pairing. Up 2-0 following a victory at No. 3 doubles, The Griffins couldn't earn the doubles sweep as Holy Family University (3-2, 1-1 CACC) senior Anastasiya Kolodiy (Lviv, Ukraine) and freshman Sophie Beck (Karlsruhe, Germany) took the battle at No. 1 doubles convincingly, 8-1.
Chestnut Hill held the 4-3 advantage following victories by senior
Laure-Anne Josso (Vannes, France) at the top flight (7-5, 6-4) and sophomore
Daniela Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) at the fourth flight (6-3, 5-7, 10-5). Holy Family University would respond however, with freshman Latifah Hinawy (Townsend, Del.) clinching the victory in a three-set battle (6-3, 4-6, 10-2) at the fifth singles match-up.
The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team continues CACC play on Sunday, September 18, with a 12:00 p.m. road contest against Caldwell University.
