Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/23/2016) – For the fourth straight match, Chestnut Hill College ended up on the wrong side of a 5-4 final as they lost this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Philadelphia University. The Griffins trailed the Lady Rams 2-1 heading to individual play, where the Scarlet and Gold grabbed a 4-2 advantage before dropping three straight singles flights.
 
Individual wins from senior Laure-Anne Josso (Vannes, France), sophomore Julia Bellon (Indaiatuba, Brazil), and sophomore Hannah Murphy (Christchurch, England) made up for the doubles deficit and put Chestnut Hill College (0-4, 0-4) in the driver's seat. Josso, who also teamed with sophomore Daniela Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) for the Griffins' 8-3 number two doubles triumph, started the Griffin comeback with her 6-2, 6-0, win in the top singles match (2-2). The trend continued with Bellon's 6-3, 6-0, victory at number four singles (3-2) and Murphy's 6-1, 6-4, win at number three singles (4-2). Unfortunately, that is when the Griffins' success stalled as Philadelphia University (3-4, 1-2) countered the rally with one of their own; they won at number five singles, 6-4, 6-1, number two singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), and number six singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to steal the match, 5-4.
 
The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 24, when they host Wilmington University for a 12:00 p.m. CACC match.
