Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/24/2016) – After a single night's rest the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team continued their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with this afternoon's match versus the league's newest program, Wilmington University. The Scarlet and Gold held the advantage after doubles play, 2-1, and increased it to 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-0, number one singles win from senior Laure-Anne Josso (Vannes, France), but the victory was followed by four straight Wildcat wins that stole the match for the visitors, 5-4. It is the fifth consecutive 5-4 decision the Griffins have endured at the start of this season.

Chestnut Hill College (0-5, 0-5) won the first point of the match with an 8-4 number-three doubles win from freshmen Nicole Yang (Blue Bell, Pa.) and Madison Jacobus (Toms River, N.J.) (1-0). But Wilmington University (4-2, 3-1) left the number two doubles flight in the balance with their 8-4 victory at number one doubles (1-1). Fortunately, Josso and sophomore Daniela Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) captured the final doubles decision, 8-4, and sent the Griffins to singles play with a 2-1 upper hand.

The Griffins extended their advantage to 3-1 with Josso's individual triumph, however, a string of Wildcats wins secured the match, 5-3, before sophomore Julia Bellon (Indaiatuba, Brazil) prevailed at number four singles, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.

The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team breaks from CACC play to compete as individuals in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championships, which are schedule to begin next Saturday, October 1, at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
