Kara Turtzer (La Habra Heights, Calif.) spotted four aces, and freshman right side
Mykayla Milchling (Baltimore, Md.) assisted on four blocks.
Chestnut Hill College (8-17, 7-6) set the tone for the 3-0 sweep early in the first set, where after a 1-1 tie the Scarlet and Gold gradually separated for an 8-3 advantage. On Turtzer's serve, the Griffins scored 10 straight points to gain an 18-3 lead Dominican College (0-23, 0-13 CACC). The separation was more than enough to earn Chestnut Hill College a 25-7 opening win. The Lady Chargers hung with the Griffins early in the second set, trailing 8-7 before extended service stretches from junior setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) and Turtzer advanced the Griffins to a 17-9 edge in an eventual 25-14 win. The last set ended the CACC contest and was highlighted by an eight-point service stretch from junior outside hitter
Emma Mull (Jeannette, Pa.) that left Chestnut Hill College with a 15-2 advantage. The Griffins never let up and punished the visitors in a 25-9 final.
Sophomore middle blocker Gabrielle Napoleon (Springfield, Pa.) and classmate, middle blocker Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, N.Y.) both recorded two kills apiece for the Lady Chargers. Defensively, freshman outside hitter Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) and junior libero Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) combined for half (15 0f 30) of the Lady Chargers' digs.
