Box Score 2 Nyack, N.Y. - (10/7/2017) – Continuing a busy weekend, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team played a pair of matches at Nyack College this afternoon. The first was a noon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match against the hosting Warriors and the second was a succeeding three sets opposite Pace University; Nyack College won the league match 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-19) and the Setters the latter contest, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-18). Corinne Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) recorded a team-high six kills in both affairs, while junior setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) provided 37 assists and senior libero
Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.) supplied 43 digs.
Chestnut Hill College (4-16, 3-6) had trouble finding their mark against Nyack College, committing more attack errors (22) than they had kills (21). Sutton supplied two kills and four digs in excess of her 16 assists. In addition to her six kills, Kalala offered four digs and three blocks for a team-high 7.5 points. Reno and sophomore outside hitter
Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) each recorded 16 digs, while freshman outside hitter
Ashley Petroski (Suffolk, Pa.) scored four aces.
The Griffins did not fare much better against Pace University (6-11). Again, Kalala scored six kills, this time adding a dig and a block. Byxbee and sophomore middle hitter
Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) each added five kills; the former added four digs to hers while the latter also recorded two digs and a block. Sutton supplied three kills, an ace, and six digs besides her 21 assists. Reno made 27 of the Griffins 54 digs.
On Wednesday, October 11, the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team continues their CACC schedule with a 7:00 p.m. Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink match versus Georgian Court University.
