Bronxville, N.Y. - (10/8/2017) – For the second time in as many days the Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team was held to a single point. Today, Sunday, October 8, it was junior Julia Bellon (Indaiatuba, Brazil) who scored the Griffins' lone tally in an 8-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Concordia College (NY). Bellon's 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), win at number three singles was her first of the year.

Concordia College (9-0, 7-0)  welcomed Chestnut Hill College (1-5, 1-5) with consecutive doubles wins at number three (8-0), number two (8-3), and number one (8-4) doubles. The Clippers extended their advantage to 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-2, win at number one singles, but were unable to hold on to the shutout as Bellon took the tiebreaker at number three singles, 7-3. The Clippers' clincher came at number two singles, where a play required three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The remaining individual flights ended in order and all in Concordia College's favor; at number four (6-1, 6-1), number five (6-0, 6-0), and number six (8-3) singles.
