Jonathan Ducretot (Antibes, France) scored the winning point, 7-2, at number three singles, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, after teaming with Sophomore
Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France) for an 8-4 triumph at number one doubles.
Chestnut Hill College (0-14) got a head start on the UDC (7-6), who were short players for the number three doubles matches and the number six singles flight. Unfortunately, the Firebirds made up for the forfeit with consecutive wins at number two doubles, 8-2, and number one doubles, 8-4. The score evened, 2-2, at the start of singles play due to the default at number six singles and the Griffins secured a brief 4-2 lead with a 6-0, 6-0, win at number five singles from sophomore
Molly Loomis (Center Valley, Pa.) and a 6-4, 6-2, win at number one singles from senior
Laure-Anne Josso (Vannes, France). The Firebirds won the remaining matches correspondingly; number two (7-5, 6-3), number three (6-0, 6-2), and number four (6-0, 6-0).

Pedro Oranges de Figueredo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won Chestnut Hill College (8-5) their first point of the men's match with their 8-5 win at number three doubles. UDC (6-4) evened the match with an 8-2 win at number two doubles, but the Scarlet and Gold ended the stalemate with Kohler and Ducretot's 8-4 win at number one doubles. Kohler made it 3-1 Griffins with his 2-6, 6-2, 7-6, triumph at number one singles and it quickly advanced to 4-1 after a 6-7, 6-0, 6-3, win at number two singles from sophomore
Felix Andre (Berlin, Germany). The Firebirds then scored a 6-3, 7-5, win at number four singles to reduce the deficit to 4-2, before Ducretot's deciding point at number three singles, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Junior
Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) and Iove recorded the Griffins final two points at number six, 6-2, 6-3, and number five, 6-2, 6-7, 10-5, singles, respectively.
The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team will join the men next on Friday, April 14, when the Griffins visit Millersville University for a pair of 2:00 p.m. matches. Before then, the men will return to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a 3:00 p.m. home match tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10, versus Caldwell University.
