Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/17/2017) – The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team began their 2017-2018 schedule with today's, Sunday, September 17, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match versus Post University. The Eagles expanded on a 2-1 doubles lead to take the league point by a 7-2 final. The Scarlet and Gold scored with an 8-6 win at number two doubles from sophomore Nicola Guzowska (Poznan, Poland) and junior Julia Bellon (Indaiatuba, Brazil) and a 6-2, 6-1, number two singles win from sophomore Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia).
 
Post University (4-1, 1-0) took the lead with an opening 8-0 win at number three doubles (1-0). Chestnut Hill College (0-1, 0-1) evened spread, 1-1, with Guzowska and Bellon's 8-6 win at number two doubles. Unfortunately, an 8-4 Eagles' win at number one doubles began a 6-1 streak to the 7-2 final. Covic ended the match on a high note for the Scarlet and Gold with her 6-2, 6-1 triumph at number two singles.
 
The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis team continues their CACC schedule on Tuesday, September 19, with a 3:00 p.m. match at Wilmington University.
