Chris Evans (Norristown, Pa.) headlined the Griffin effort in an 86-58 loss to the North Division-leading, Bears. Evans hit two threes (2-of-3, .667) in a 7-of-10 (.700) shooting performance that headlined the Griffins' 32.4% (23-of-71) team shooting effort.
Bloomfield College (15-3, 10-0) scored the first seven points of the affair (7-0, 15:55), before a Chestnut Hill College (2-15, 1-9) rush reduced the Bear advantage to a single point, 14-13, with 11:03 remaining in the first half. Initially, junior guard
Cartier Talford (Reading, Pa.) fought to keep the Griffins close, but eventually the home team broke free as a three from junior guard Keith Washington (Philadelphia, Pa.) gave Bloomfield College a nine-point, 26-17, lead at 6:13 and a free throw from senior guard Rakwan Kelly (Newark, N.J.) made it a 13-point, 38-25 (0:41), lead at halftime. The Bears quickly increased their position in the second half as the gap reached 20 points, 45-25, by 16:58 and over 30 points, 62-30, just over two minutes later (14:53), before settling on a 28-point margin, 86-58.
Junior guard Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, N.J.) led Bloomfield College with 26 points, two rebounds, two assists, a block, and two steals. Four others joined him in double figures; Washington was chief among them with 12 points, six rebounds, six assists, and a steal.
