Orangeburg, N.J. – (11/3/2018) – Chestnut Hill College concluded their 2018 season today, November 3, with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-30, 25-16) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory at Dominican College. The Scarlet and Gold triumph included a 10-kill performance from junior middle hitter Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) and eight team aces. Sophomore setter Shaina Franklin (Yorktown, Va.) offered three of them and helped senior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) provide 24 of the Griffins' 27 assists.

After surrendering the first point of the afternoon to Dominican College (3-24, 5-14), freshman defensive specialist Venessa Caballero (San Dimas, Calif.) served Chestnut Hill College (11-18, 8-11) to a 4-1 advantage that eventually grew into a 13-5 edge and a 25-16 (1-0) win with three-kill sets from Callahan and freshman right side Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.). The Lady Chargers paced play early in the second set, owning a 13-9 advantage at the first Griffin timeout of the match. Fortunately, the break refocused the Scarlet and Gold, who recovered to tie the frame at 13-13 and claim their second set on a 25-20 end (2-0). The Griffins had to rally again at the start of the third set, using Sutton's serve to reverse a 4-1 deficit to a 6-4 advantage. From there, Chestnut Hill College pushed their lead to 13-8 by the first Lady Charger timeout and ultimately secured the match with a second 25-16 conclusion (3-0).

Junior setter Sara Hayward (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) directed the Lady Charger offense with eight assists and two digs, while senior libero Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) captained their defensive efforts with eight digs.
