Scarlet and Gold Surrenders Five Goals In Scoreless Showing at SNHU

Hooksett, N.H. – (9/1/2018) – A four-goal effort by senior forward Alex Satrustegui (Pamplona, Spain) was more than enough for Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) to overcome Chestnut Hill College as the Penmen secured an efficient 5-0 victory on a 14-10 shot advantage. Three Griffins recorded two shots apiece, while sophomore goalkeeper Sergio Hernandez (Ossining, N.Y.) (1-1) made two saves in the loss.

Satrustegui's first two tallies came off corner kicks as he headed the first (1-0, 5:07) to left side of the Chestnut Hill College (1-1) goal and the second (2-0, 10:48) to the right. Sophomore midfielder Tom Marriott (Nottingham, England), who found Satrustegui for his first goal, also located him for his third; another header that pushed SNHU's (2-0) advantage to 3-0 just after halftime (49:50). His fourth goal came just over 12 minutes later (62:32), when graduate midfielder Joao Brum (Ribeira Grande, Portugal) put him through the Griffin defense for a strike to the right side of the net, 4-0. At 72:11, Marriott completed his four-point day with a fifth Penmen goal, 5-0, which came off a feed from sophomore defenseman Jannik Mohr (Koblenz, Germany).

Satrustegui needed seven shots to record his four tallies. He was responsible for half of SNHU's shots. In goal, senior Daniel Milton (Ajax, Canada) totaled five saves in the win (2-0).

Junior midfielder Pedro Dutra (Passos, Brazil), freshman midfielder David Cortez (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.), and sophomore forward Miguel Marra (Ossining, N.Y.) each recorded two shots for Chestnut Hill College.

Chestnut Hill College continues their season on Tuesday, September 4, when they visit East Stroudsburg University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
