Caldwell, N.J. – (9/22/2018) – Caldwell University made the most of a slight first half shooting edge (6-4) to secure a 1-0 lead in the 34
th minute (33:32) of today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College was unable to slow the home team's advances in the latter frame, surrendering two more tallies in an eventual 3-0 Cougar win. Sophomore forward
Gabby Fanfarillo (Glassboro, N.J.) recorded two of the Griffins' four shots, while junior goalkeeper
Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) totaled nine saves in the loss (2-3).

Fanfarillo issued the first shot of the affair, but Caldwell University (5-2, 4-0) offered the next series of shots and eventually capitalized off a deflection for their first tally as senior forward Carlyn Salus (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) scored on a loose ball at 33:32 (1-0). In the second half, the Cougars quickly added to their lead, when senior forward Meghan Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) finished a one-two connection between senior midfielder Amanda Wroblewski (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Salus at 54:08 (2-0). Grundhauser scored again, just a little over two minutes later (3-0, 56:30), completing a pass from sophomore forward Jordan Madrid (Cherry Hill, N.J.). The second half game clock expired without Chestnut Hill College (2-5, 1-4) attempting a single shot, leaving Peshkin to make seven of her nine saves in the period.

Grundhauser scored her two goals on a team-high five shots; five other recorded at least two shots for Caldwell University. Freshman goalkeeper Jamie-Lee Bamford (Briantree, England) made two saves in the win (5-2).

Chestnut Hill College briefly breaks from their CACC schedule to visit Queens College for a 3:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, September 26.
