Post University Surpasses Chestnut Hill College, 4-0

Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (9/29/2018) – What was a competitive contest for the first 45 minutes got away from Chestnut Hill College in the later 45 minutes as Post University extended a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory with three second half scores. Junior midfielder Pedro Dutra (Passos, Brazil) led the Griffins with four of their 14 shots.

Chestnut Hill College (3-7, 2-4) issued the first shot of the affair as a header from junior midfielder Mo Ehmer (Staines, England) sailed high of the Post University (4-5, 3-2) goal at 10:47. Not long after that, the Eagles took control of the affair, taking a series of shots before a tick-tack-toe tally that connected junior Eden Gendler (Israel), sophomore Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain), and freshman Phillimon Bedard-Kahlid (?) gave them a 1-0 lead at 17:58. Play evened out following the goal as the Griffins took a 9-7 shot advantage into intermission. Unfortunately, after the break the Eagles got all the right bounces, adding their second goal at 67:51 (2-0), a third at 74:51 (3-0), and a fourth at 77:13 (4-0). The deficit was too much for the Scarlet and Gold to overcome in the final 12 minutes, leaving Post University to the four-goal triumph.

Gendler, Bedard-Khalid, and Diaz totaled three shots apiece, but Diaz was the centerpiece of the Eagle effort with two assists and Post University's second goal (2-0, 67:51). Freshman goalkeeper Fredrik Pederson (?) made four saves in the win (4-4).

In addition to Dutra, senior forward Jason Doherty (Letterkenny Donegal, Ireland) and junior defenseman Andrew Johnstone (Liverpool, England) also recorded multiple strikes for the Griffins. Sophomore goalkeeper Sergio Hernandez (Ossining, N.Y.) made two saves in the loss (3-5).

Chestnut Hill College returns to Victory Field #1 on Wednesday, October 3, when they host Holy Family University in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
