Freshman guard
Trevonn Pitts (Wyncote, Pa.) scored the first points of the contest in just six seconds (2-0, 19:54), but Wilmington University (8-9, 5-3) answered with a three point basket at 19:13, 3-2, and gradually grew their advantage to lead by 10 points, 31-21, with 4:14 remaining in the first half and 13 points, 38-25 (0:02), by halftime. Roman Letterlough (Harrisburg, Pa.) led Chestnut Hill College (3-14, 0-8) through the first 20 minutes; the former offering three points, six rebounds, an assist, a steal, and two blocks, while the latter supplied six points and a steal. Play went tit-for-tat early in the second half as the Wildcats remained ahead by double digits, but never controlled a lead of greater than 16 points, 60-44 (9:42), until the final seven minutes of the affair as the spread crept to over 20 points, 78-57 (1:04), in the final minutes.
Wilmington University received 70 of their 81 points from three players as junior guard Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md.) (26 points), senior guard Thomas Farrior (Willingboro, N.J.) (24 points), and freshman forward Jordan Harding (Bear, Del.) (20 points) all finished with 20-plus points. Harding added 10 rebounds for a double-double performance, he also recorded four assists, a block, and a steal. Head added eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks to his game-high 26 points, while Farrior provided nine rebounds, an assist, and a block to his 24 points.
Bailey led Chestnut Hill College with 10 points, but Warrick was the top performer of the Griffins with nine points, a season and career-high 11 rebounds, an assist, two blocks, and three steals. Bailey also grabbed four rebounds. Butler finished with nine points and a rebound, while Letterlough totaled eight points, three rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule on Sunday, January 27, when they host Concordia College (NY) in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
