This time around, the Griffins came out on top, serving their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival a 79-74 loss. Aiding in the triumphant effort was a 21-point performance from freshman guard
Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.), who went 5-of-7 (.714) from the three point line and grabbed a pair of clutch rebounds to ensure a Scarlet and Gold victory. Sophomore guard
Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) and junior forward
Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished in double figures as well; the latter offered a season-high 16 points and complimented Crim's perimeter success with four, three point baskets (4-of-6) of her own.

Tonight's affair served as the backdrop for the Griffins' CACC Mental Health Awareness Day and annual Athletics Academic Honor Roll Recognition. A National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) inspired initiative, the CACC Mental Health Awareness Day aims to encourage students, faculty, and staff members to answer the call, speak up, and help spread awareness about this social issue. A combined total of 225 student-athletes earned Athletic Academic Honor Roll recognition between the spring 2018 and fall 2018 academic semesters, including 39 student-athletes who earned 4.0 grade point averages. In order to become a member of the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be present on a team's squad list while earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or better.
In a game of extended runs, Chestnut Hill College (6-12, 4-6) edged Goldey-Beacom College (9-11, 5-6) by one point at halftime, 33-32. The Griffins was first to separate, expanding a two-point, 18-16 (1:29), late first quarter advantage into a 13-point, 29-16 (7:37), second quarter edge with 11 straight points. Senior guard
Mary Trossi (Somerset, N.J.) was the pioneer of the Scarlet and Gold run, scoring back-to-back layups (1:21, 0:52) to end the first quarter to give the Griffins the momentum to net the first seven points of the second quarter. Unfortunately, the Lightning struck back with a 14-0 run that delivered them a one-point, 30-29, lead with 1:56 remaining before intermission. The lead would change hands three times in those final minutes, leaving Chestnut Hill College clinging to their 33-32 edge.
At the start of the third quarter, Sebold and Crim connected on a series of shots that gave the Griffins an early 41-32 (8:43) lead. Trossi and senior forward
Jaeda Wildgoose (Franklin Township, N.J.) helped Chestnut Hill College extend their position, which reached 14 points three times in the frame; 49-35 (6:54), 51-37 (5:38), and 58-44 (0:49), before freshman guard
Abbey Spratt (Downingtown, Pa.) closed the quarter with an end-to-end rush, 60-44 (0:12). The Scarlet and Gold maintained a comfortable position until the latter minutes of the fourth quarter. The Lightning quickly changed the dynamic of the contest midway through the final frame, reducing the deficit to single digits, 68-59, by 2:52 and cutting the difference to just three points, 71-68 (1:06), heading to the final minute. There, Sebold served as the Scarlet and Gold savior, providing Griffins some breathing room with four late free throws (0:21, 0:19).
Junior guard Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, N.J.) led the Lightning with a game-high 24 points, three rebounds, four assists, a block, and four steals. She was complimented the efforts of senior guard Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, Pa.) and freshman forward Alexis Harrison (Millville, N.J.); the former totaled 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals, while the latter finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
Crim added a two-point basket (6-of-10, .600 FG%) and four free throws (4-of-4, 1.000) to her five, three pointers. Glenn also hit four free throws (4-of-4, 1.000) in addition to her long range success. She additionally provided eight rebounds, an assist, and three steals. Sebold tallied 13 points, three rebounds, four assists, and a steal, while Wildgoose finished just one point shy of another double-double, posting nine points and 12 rebounds.
