Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/15/2019) – A short-handed Chestnut Hill College welcomed Goldey-Beacom College to the Campus Courts for this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. The Lightning capitalized on their advantage, fulfilling the doubles point with a 6-1 win at number one doubles, and securing the match with individual wins in the fifth (6-0, 6-0) and fourth (6-1, 6-0) flights before eventually earning a 6-1 match victory. The Griffins earned their only point at number one singles, where senior Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia) won by injury retirement despite trailing 2-1.
 
Goldey-Beacom College (7-1, 7-1) needed only their 6-1 win at number two doubles to secure the team point from a short-handed Chestnut Hill College (5-6, 4-4). The Lightning eventually swept the round with a 6-3 win at number two doubles. The Scarlet and Gold were automatically down a second point at the start of singles play, forfeiting the prize at number six singles. But, not long after, the Griffins got on the scoreboard as Covic's opponent bowed out of competition with a 2-1 lead in-hand. Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College could not build on the victory. Goldey-Beacom College clinched the match with points at number five (6-0, 6-1) and number four (6-0, 6-0) singles. Afterwards, they extended the score to a 6-1 final with additional wins at number two (6-3, 6-2) and number three (6-2, 6-3) singles.
 
Chestnut Hill College concluded their fall, regular season schedule on Saturday, October 19, with a 2:30 p.m. match at Wilmington University.
