Nyack, N.Y. – (2/25/2019) – Tonight's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action brought Chestnut Hill College to Nyack College for their final North Division crossover of the season. The Warriors steadily grew a 48-29 lead over the course of the first half and pushed their advantage to as many as 29 points, 92-63 (1:36), in the final minutes of a 92-67 final. Liban Awl (Manassas, Va.) led the group with 15 points, but freshman forward
Amir Warrick (Washington, DC) stood out as well with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal.
Nyack College (6-20, 5-13) crashed the first-half boards to separate from Chestnut Hill College (3-23, 0-17) early, outrebounding the Griffins 31-14 in the opening period to lead by double digits, 13-3, with 16:21 remaining and 18 points, 30-12, prior to a Scarlet and Gold timeout at 9:51. Following the break, the Warrior lead reached 20 points, 44-24 (5:04), for the first time. It hovered there for the remainder of the period and settled at a 48-29 difference for intermission. After halftime, Chestnut Hill College was not able to make a dent in the margin, which reached 25 points, 72-48, before the seven-minute mark (7:12) and maxed at 29 points, 92-63, with just 1:36 left to play. Senior guard Gemaal Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led five Warriors in double figures with 14 points. He also recorded three rebounds. Junior guard Jah-Meer McDuffie (Syracuse, N.Y.) and freshman guards, Joel Bailey (St. Catherine, Jamaica) and Jordan Rodriguez (Orlando, Fla.), all reported 13 points; Bailey was the top contributor among them with seven rebounds and six assists in excess of his scoring efforts. Senior guard Cortez Rawls (Montclair, N.J.) was the fifth double digit scorer, offering 11 points in addition to four rebounds and a steal.
