Douglassville, Pa. - (2/2/2019) – Sophomore Christina Del Vecchio (Warrington, Pa.) averaged 206.8 pins per game to lead the field on the first day of Kutztown University's Bowling for a Kure Tournament. She captured Most Valuable Players (MVP) honors and lead Chestnut Hill College to fifth place in the nine-team tournament (5th of 9, 0W-4L, 4,525).
Felician University defeated Chestnut Hill College (26-26) in the first match of the afternoon, 946-903. Del Vecchio led the team with a score of 243. Then, during the bye round, Del Vecchio rolled a 225 and sophomore Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.) added a 214 in a 979 team score. Sophomore Takara Wigfall (Forestville, Md.) led the Scarlet and Gold in their second game with a 191, but it was not enough to defeat Molloy College, who prevailed decisively, 1,121-848. Kutztown University won the third match, 925-873; Del Vecchio led the Griffins in this match as well with her 199. She bowled a 201 in the fourth match, but that was also not enough to earn the Griffins a victory as they fell to Wilmington University by a 931-922 margin.
