Baltimore, Md. - (3/17/2019) – The Chestnut Hill College men's and women's tennis teams visited
Loyola University for today's dual match action. The Griffin women gave their best effort, but were not able to take a single flight off the Greyhounds, who took doubles in reverse order and scored the match-winner of a 7-0 victory in the second individual flight. Freshman
Gianna Vassalluzzo (Newtown, Pa.) had the Scarlet and Gold's most success with her 7-6 (2), 6-4 loss at number five singles.
Doubles play completed in reverse order with Loyola University (5-0) earning consecutive wins from Chestnut Hill College (2-9) at number three (6-0), number two (6-1), and number one (6-2) singles, 1-0. In singles play, the third flight finished first. There the Greyhounds secured the second point of the match by a 6-0, 6-0, end. The next two Loyola University scores came at number four (6-0, 6-1) and number one (6-0, 6-1) singles. Afterwards, they completes their sweep with successive wins in the second (6-3, 6-3), fifth (7-6 (2), 6-4), and sixth (6-1, 6-0) individual matches.
The Chestnut Hill College women's tennis teams competes next on Tuesday, April 2, when they visit Jefferson for a 2:30 p.m. match
