Wilmington University (11-7) scored three times in the opening 10 minutes (27:20, 25:49, 21:01) and added a fourth goal (4-0, 18:27) before Chestnut Hill College (5-10) was able to respond. Fitzgerald broke the Scarlet and Gold silence at 16:52 (4-1), when she finished a lead from senior attack

After another Wildcat tally at 15:41 (5-1), Fitzgerald recorded her second score, 5-2 (15:23), but the goal was only an interruption as Wilmington University score five unanswered goals before halftime, 10-2. Following intermission, they added six more goals before the Griffins next goal; Pearson score it, unassisted at 5:40 (16-3). Unfortunately, by that time the game was out of reach as Wilmington University would go on to earn a 18-3 victory.
Sophomore attack Delaney Steele (Magnolia, Del.) was the playmaker for the Wildcats, totaling 11 points in the affair with a goal and 10 of Wilmington University's 12 assists. She also recorded two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Five others enjoyed multiple-goal games; chief among them was sophomore defender Brooke Siebert (Felton, Pa.), who added six ground balls, four draws, and six caused turnovers to her five tallies. In goal, senior Maddie Hurm (Elkton, Md.) earned the win (8-5) with four saves, a ground ball, and a caused turnover in the first half.
