Philadelphia, Pa. - (8/29/2019) – In 2019, Chestnut Hill College enters their second season under Head Coach
Tim Moyer and staff. With four skilled seniors and three battle-tested juniors returning to the roster, the Griffins look to progress from back-to-back 8-11 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) seasons (2018; 11-18 overall) and return to the league's championship tournament for the first time since 2016. "We have a great balance of senior leadership and young talent. We are hungry to win," acknowledged Coach Moyer. "2019 is sure to be an exciting season for us."
Suffering only the departure of the program's all-time assist leader,

Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) to headline their success in 2019. Byxbee offered career-highs in kills (265), hitting (.176; 265K-112E-867TA), assists (31), and points (283.5) in her junior campaign, serving as the Griffins' most consistent contributor with 10 double-doubles. Meanwhile, the versatile
Callahan scored a team-high 301.0 points thanks to career-highs in kills (262), hitting percentage (.163; 262K-125E-839TA), aces (22), assists (32), and digs (305). She offered eight double-doubles, including 17 kills and a career-high 27-digs in a 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10) triumph over Felician University on October 31. Byxbee and Callahan will be joined on Chestnut Hill College's front line by Baldwin, who has logged 267 kills and 107 blocks over the past two seasons. Green captained the Griffin defense last season, averaging a team-high 3.14 digs-per-set (323 total digs/103 sets).
The sophomore class includes defensive specialist
Venessa Caballero (San Dimas, Calif.), right side
Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.), and defensive specialist/libero
Kerri Sullivan (Coatesville, Pa.). With 186 kills, a team-high 35 aces, and 22 blocks, Lipinski totaled 232.5 points as a freshman. Caballero and Sullivan split time as defensive reserves; the former contributed 30 aces and 107 digs while appearing in 28 (11 starts) of the Griffins' 29 matches. The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team opens their 2019 season on Friday, September 6, when they visit Shippensburg University for the Raider Classic. The Griffins are scheduled to face Kutztown University at noon (12:00 p.m.) and Shippensburg University at 7:00 p.m. on the first day of competition. They will conclude their stay on Saturday, September 7, with a 10:00 a.m. match versus Slippery Rock University.
