The Chestnut Hill college men's soccer team faced Daemen College in a non-conference regional soccer match Wednesday, falling to Wildcats 5-0 in Amherst, New York.
The Griffins fall to 0-8-3 with the loss.
Daemen jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals in the first 30 minutes of play. Chestnut Hill held the Wildcats scoreless the remainder of the half. The Wildcats outshot the Griffins 9-6 in the first half.
The score remained 2-0 until the 73
rd when Daemen added a penalty kick goal. The Wildcats rounded out the scoring with a pair of goals in the 76
th minute.
The Griffins took ten shots total with
Christian Torres recording the only shot on goal. Daemen finished the game with 19 shots (11 on goal).
Mahmoud Mahmoud had five saves in 74:22 while
Steven Cedeno finished the game with one save.
Chestnut Hill College travels to Nyack College as they resume conference play with a match on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Kickoff is at 3:00 p.m.
